How do we speed up the machine that makes our dreams come true? Much has been written about the power of focusing our enormous energy to effect a specific outcome. I have seen this happen repeatedly in my life. And have come to believe it's real and available to all of us.

At 36, divorced, hungover and desperate, I simply wanted a loving family, a wife and child to share my future. I had neither. So, with nowhere else to turn, I began to draw the outline of the woman I saw in my mind's eye, arms raised, triumphant, curvaceous. For two years, I painted this silhouette, creating a total of 35 tableaus, each a call out to the universe. Soon after I finished the last work, I met someone. She was smart, silly and gorgeous. And most amazingly of all, she looked exactly like the figure in the paintings.
