As a trombonist, composer, and arranger, Javier Nero'smusicianship is receiving significant recognition. Nero has won first place in four international jazz solo competitions. In roles from sideman to bandleader, Nero has collaborated with Grammy award-winning trumpeters/composers from Brian Lynch to local staples like Martin Bejerano.
Nero has also won various awards for composing and arranging including Downbeat Magazine’s Student Music Awards.
